This cache has been archived.

Andy: It seems after several DNFs that this one has gone missing. I am unable to maintain it any more. [:(]

Geocache Description:

The castle was originally built by the Moors before being taken over by the Christians in the 13th Century. Severe storms in 2007 caused further damage to the already ruined castle, and in 2008 the cache was slightly repositioned to allow for this.

There are a number of routes to the Castle, but we chose to start at Murla to give us a walk of about a mile to the top. Walk out of Murla on the road by the cross (N38 45.708 W000 04.911 - parking nearby) until you are almost at the foot of the castle hill. Take a track through the orchard on your right and begin the trek to the top following the yellow and white markers where possible.

Small note on cache maintenance: When we set the cache we stayed in Orba with friends who own a villa there. The family spend about 12-14 weeks a year there (summer and winter) and have promised to keep an eye on it.
