“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just a year and a half, the quest has
grown to over three hundred caches hidden in twenty-seven Indiana
counties, and two Ohio counties, and the hiders have grown to
eleven cacher teams, most of which of which are comprised of
Dogs and their Humans. Over 590 cacher
teams have logged over 6,500 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ
caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

INDIANA
SPIRIT QUEST #299
”SWAN SONG"
Welcome to Swan Cemetery, Swan Township,
Noble County. Can you hear the SHADOW?
This cemetery is mid
sized, rural, old, and still quite active. The drive will take you
back to, and around the hill, where it had it's beginning. This
puts it well back from the roadway. You would find it peaceful and
quiet here except for the noise from the nearby main highway. The
oldest legible marker I saw was dated 1852.
Most of our wars are
represented by veterans buried here, including one from the War of
1812: Joseph Cummins. Along with a well-preserved older stone, he
has a newer replacement marker with unit information. –-THE
SHADOW
There seems to be a difference of opinion
on the spelling of this veteran's last name.
