Freshman Orientation is organised annually to orientate freshmen into the National University of Singapore (NUS) and to promote friendship among freshmen and seniors. It aims to assist freshmen to be familiarized with the University Environment as well as to impart essential knowledge about academic matters in their respective departments/faculties/institutes.
Let's have an all-year round geocaching version for NUS too!
You can start in any order for this cache, as the checkpoints are scattered throughout the campus, so it depends on where you are coming from. The sequential order that I present below might not be the most optimised.
If by the MRT, you may alight at either the Clementi Station or the Buona Vista Station and catch SBS Service 96 or 95 from the respective stations to get to the University.
Public bus services also operate along the major trunk roads surrounding the campus.

All car parks in NUS have been converted to pay car parks as part of a park-and-ride scheme.Free parking is available at Kent Vale and the CRISP car park (Car Park 10A) at Kent Ridge Road. Free internal shuttle bus services (Service A, Service B and Service C) are provided to transfer commuters from these two locations to their campus destinations.

The Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library (HSSML) is a Special Library within the NUS Libraries. The Library was built in memory of the late Mr Hon Sui Sen (1916-1983), former Minister for Finance of Singapore (1970-1983), who was also the Member of Parliament for the Havelock Constituency (1970-1983).
This is located within the boundaries of the NUS Business School, overlooks some halls across the road and the Institute for Inforcomm Research.

Central Library is a multi-disciplinary library serving all NUS staff and students and primarily those from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment. Its collection covers Architecture, Building and Real Estate, Engineering & Technology, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
You can find the NUS Co-op at the ground level for NUS memorabilia, as well as bazaars and performances occasionally.

The Science and Medical departments are found around this vincity. You might also see some people talking to their food while they eat alone (mad scientists in the making?) And speaking of food, you will notice that the canteen has three tiers, which is known amongst the seniors as hell, earth, and heaven. The stairs to the Science Co-op is located on the same level as hell.

There is an island that everyone seems to go around about getting from one end of campus to the other. You can see the University Cultural Centre which has played host to performances by professional and non-professional Singaporean arts companies and international artistes such as the British jazz diva, Carol Kidd and Wadaiko Yamato, the Japanese Taiko drum troupe which received rave reviews. Also you can see the Raffles Hall, and the Yusof Ishak House (YIH) from here. Be careful of the traffic!!!

The Sports and Recreational Center (SRC) tends to 6 multi-Purpose Sports Halls that are used for Martial Arts, Aerobics, Gym, Badminton, and Exams!!! As well as Squash Courts, Sports Climbing Gym and a Dance Studio. There's also a big Field, Basketball Courts, an Archery Range, an Olympic-size Swimming Pool and lots of Rules regarding their use...

Commuting via the internal shuttle buses within the campus is a daily waiting affair. Thankfully it's a short waiting time during term time.
