The Alleghenian: Slovenly grounds keeping has rendered this cache unsafe and difficult to locate. I didn't even try. Leaf litter is very deep and snake warning signs are close by. This has been a difficult cache from inception due to problems getting a consistent ground zero. The GPS reception here is the worst I ever encountered. I am archiving this cache.

Geocache Description:

In the Encinitas/Carlsbad Area

Since this neighborhood park’s name, Scott Valley, has two letters “T”, I assume it is named after a person named Scott, rather than referring to those individuals from Scotland. But I have no idea which person named Scott it is named for. Anyway, it is another of the delightful small parks designed for use by families, particularly ones with small children. The park includes plenty of open, grassy areas for running around, climbing equipment, two half-basketball courts, and some other equipment to encourage fitness. The landscaping is pretty and there is a cement walkway around the outside edge of the park. Please note that this park is designated “day use only”, so please do not attempt this hunt at night. The park is appreciated by the families nearby and therefore may be fairly busy at times, so beware of Muggles.

The cache itself is just a few feet off the cement pathway. Because of the small size of the cache container, there in only room for a small log, so please bring your own pen or pencil. In order to keep the log dry, please replace in container and make sure the container lid is on snug.

The original container got "pruned" when the bushed also got pruned, so a new container and location was necessary.
