Geocache Description:

Easy location. Watch for muggles

This cache is located in a small town that has flourished since being bypassed by the Hume highway back in 1994. It is no longer a bottle-neck for traffic but now a tranquil place for visitors to enjoy. The main structure that you will view at this cache was officialy tested and commisioned on the 8'th April 1892. At 7am on the 20'th April, 1892 a special train carrying dignitaries departed Sydney bound for this location arriving at the newly completed Town Station around 2pm where over a 1,000 people waited to greet them and take part in the festivities. Regular Trains commenced running on the line from the 22'nd April with the initial timetable of 4 return trips per day being increased to 8, such was the demand. This towns railway isolation had come to an end.
In November of 1988 it was decided to close this track leading to Australia's shortest railway platform.

Nice spot for a walk or picnic.
