When I was a kid, my Father taught me lots of interesting things. He gave me an education of useless trivia, Monty Python and automotive history to name a few. On road trips and Sunday drives we would play a game called “Name that Car”, He would point out a vehicle and we would have to name the make and model with bonus points for year of manufacture. This cache has nothing to do with Monty Python or automotive history. But it will require you to identify a type of boat (insert loose memories of “where do I work, what do I do?”), and then navigate yourself to this cache.
In 1960 on the Isle of Wight a boat was designed for a Trans Atlantic solo voyage. The design proved so popular at the time, the voyage was cancelled and the designer began manufacturing his design in mass quantities. Eventually the design was purchased by a manufacturer here in California and it is still being produced in two sizes. You are looking for a fine example of the larger of the two, berthed somewhere in the vicinity of the posted coordinates.
Once you find this boat, go to the closest place you can sit and gaze at it for a few minutes, since you have already spent enough time researching what it is so you can identify it in the harbor. While you are looking at it, reflect on this, a few years ago, a sailor navigated this same model of boat to Hawaii, solo no less! Do you possess the courage to make that same voyage, where the closest land is straight down, and you may go days at a time without seeing anything other than water and the horizon?
Now, thankful that you are on dry land, stand up and go find the cache. It is a small container (sorry no pen) with an above average FTF prize. The cache is 192ft away bearing 020. Good Luck.
