This is a puzzle cache as well as a three stage multi cache. It is
designed to take you through the Victorian downtown area of West
Branch and into the beautiful Iron's Park area. West Branch is too
often passed by on the expressway while on the way to points
farther north. The town has taken great pains to retain it's small
town flavor while still growing at a frantic pace.
The coordinates on this page will take you to a veteran's
memorial. On the wall of the memorial facing the parking lot is a
plaque. Using this plaque I will tell you which letters to pick out
and put into blanks for the coordinates. It will then be up to you
to figure out how the letters correspond to numbers. Use what you
already know about the coordinates to figure it out. I will call
out the letters in a line and position format. For example, 3-8
would be the third line and the 8th letter in that line. OK, here
goes...

If you figure out those coordinates right and you plug them into
your GPS they should take you to stage two where you will find
yourself standing in front of another plaque. Use the same format
as before where 2-10 would mean line and position or second line
and tenth letter. But beware, the same letter may not stand for the
same number as before. Use what you already know about the
coordinates to figure them out. OK, here goes...
