What is now the Center for Career Development for IU, used to be a dormitory for college students. For many of the students that were housed there, it will be hard to forget their stay. It wasnt uncommon to run into some company when going to the restroom or showers. Many sightings of a middle aged man shaving or washing up in the bathroom and then walking away just to vanish into thin air took place more than once. For years this person of the afterlife was spotted at 625 N Jordan. It was also said that you could occasionally hear women and babies screaming from the basement behind the steele double doors. Sometimes the older frat kids would use this as an initiation for their younger to see if they were man enough to be part of their frat. They would be made to spend the night in the pitch dark basement alone. History states that at one time a doctor ran an illegal practice out of this building before it was a dorm. He was said to have given many abortions and even gave a fatal one taking the life of a young woman and her child. The grief was too much and he ended up dying at this residence himself.
