Cache is located in the Alta Lakes campground south of Telluride and Mountain Village. Take 145 to the Alta Lakes access road. Cache is accessible via any vehicle to within 100 or so ft. Our GPS accuracy was only 90 ft. so you may have to look carefully!
Drive up takes you through the Alta Ghost Town (very well preserved) and ends at the Alta Camp Grounds... nice place to spend the night if you are camping or simply going to have a picnic!
Cache is a clear plastic container with a aqua lid. Original contents included:
logbook, pencil (unsharpened), 2 pens, poncho, ball and jack set, batteries, clock, stickers, wipe board, bug wipes, hand sanitizer wipes, band-aids, baseball, deck of cards, 3 good luck bracelets, puzzle book, nail clippers, lizard hook.
