I was thumbing thru a new hunting catalog of my son’s and
began to realize just how lucky I must have been to ever have
bagged a deer.
Why, I never had the advantage of all this head to toe
camouflage available today, I just sat in a plywood blind. Never
had the advantage of all the scent technology, I just stayed
downwind. Never used a $400 zoom scope with optics as big around as
a beer can, I only had a 4x Weaver. (Actually, my first two were
brought down with open sights. Wow! What were the odds? ) Game
trail cameras, automatic feeders, knives that cost more than
rifles, electronic game calls, How did anybody manage to kill a
deer without them ?
Well, that’s just too much for me so I decided to put
together a trophy hunt that didn’t require all this modern
mess. Just a, um....... GPS, fresh batteries, and some
gasoline.
GOOD HUNTING
