Hanmer Springs, Dog Stream Reserve walking track - Great first geocache for all the family.
Was placed by Ella, aged 5, and Sarah, aged 4.
The Cache is hidden at the south end of the Dog Stream reserve walkway. Enter directly via the Bath Street Entrance to the reserve or take the longer way and begin off Scarborough terrace. Use the GPS to get you to the correct location on the track and then look around for a tree with 3 trunks!!!!. THE ORIGINAL CACHE WAS MUGGLED TWICE BY KEEN TREE HUT BUILDERS SO IT HAS BEEN MOVED 50M DOWN THE TRACK AT THE BASE OF A TREE, AND IS COVERED WITH STICKS AND LEAVES.
The cache is a 1 litre plastic container with a log book and when first hidden has some little trinkets/treasures that the kids will like. Remember to take something to swap for the kiddies.
Thanks to Captain_S for helping out with this cache.
