Geocache Description:

This cache is situated on the coastal path between Llangrannog and Penbryn overlooking but not actually on Carreg-y-Ty.
Dogs allowed on leads.

We suggest parking at the car park in Penbryn and walking the path from here.
This costal path takes you along scenic coastline, looking out across Cardigan Bay.
During August 2005 approximately 2000 dolphins and 3 Humpback whales were spotted in the bay.
Carreg-y-Ty is on the end of the headland on the Llangrannog side of a secluded beach called Traeth Bach.
Further North of the cache is Castell Bach an old Iron Age fortified settlement.

On your return from the cache we can recommend refreshments and/or a bite to eat at Café Cartws which is situated in the car park and close to Llanborth - a 200 year old farm house, where previously stood a mansion, the seat of the Lords of Towyn.

While at Penbryn and if you have the time, why not visit St Michael’s church at SN293521, it is of ancient origin and has a circular grave yard – so that there were no corners for the devil to hide in.
Also further up the road is the Corbalengi Stone at Dyffryn Bern SN288513. Inscribed: Cor Balenci jacit Ordous and interpreted as: The Heart of Balengus the Ordovician lies here. Also found here were an Urn containing ashes and a gold coin dating to 69AD along with silver and bronze coins. Or if history is not your thing, Penbryn has its long sandy beach.
