Geocache Description:

From the Tubal Cain Trail #840 in the Olympics, this is 14 miles round trip with an elevation gain of about 2700 feet.

We spent a few days hiking and camping along the Tubal Cain Trail#840. This is a very well maintained trail with a fairly gradual increase in elevation, If you would like you can go to this
page for more information, Tubal Cain Trail # 840
As we hiked along copper creek we were greeted with views of the creek and the surrounding mountains and meadows. As we approached Buckhorn Pass we came up a ridge with the best views we'd seen all day. This is at the pass just before Buckhorn Mountain. All we could say was "My oh my!" Along the trail, directly in front of you is Iron Mountain and Buckhorn Mountain. When you reach the cache, you'll have views along the Dungeness River Valley. On a clear day, this spot is breathtaking.

you may also reach this spot via other trails the two biggest being Big Quilcene Trail #833.1
and Upper Dungeness Trail #833.2
You will need a pass for any of the trail heads, If you plan on doing this cache in the rainy season we recommend that you stay as dry as possible as Criminal put it Hypothermia can kill you.
Don't forget to look for other caches along this trail:
Tubal Cain Treasure Hunt
cache landing at tullis canyon
Marmot Pass via the Big Quilcene Trail

The cache is a decon container which can hold a few small trade items.
