Geocache Description:

Kiser is located off an unmaintained trail that branches off the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail at least a mile before Camp Kiser. You will have to trek about 8.5 miles round trip from Artist Point on the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail to reach this cache with spectacular views. Expect to encounter at least some small snowfields year-round.

Start your hike from the Artist Point parking lot and take the Chain Lakes Trail to access the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail. A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park at Artist Point. Near Coleman Pinnacle, turn left (@ 48 49.039N; 121 44.513W) down an unmaintained trail toward a beautiful alpine lake. Once you go off the main trail, start following your GPSr and geosense.

Remember you are in mountain goat country – that means it can be rocky and steep. Please be careful hiking.

dentalstudent & dad

My dad and I saw marmots, ptarmigan, and 53 mountain goats during our trip to hide this one. Binoculars and a spotting scope are highly recommended if you wish to find as many mountain goats as we did. Please post some pictures because I love the views up and down this entire trail.
