This cache is now only a ONE stage cache. See Log for new final coordinates. Located at Schlesinger Preserve in Colts Neck. This narrow sliver of land is interesting in that it has 3 types of forest, large stand of trees with no understory, then a small field with a stand of young trees, and finally a dense growth that borders the Big Brook, hence the cache name. The cache hunting only brings you looping around the first part on a well worn over marked looped path, but if you want more of a hike after you find the cache take the trail marked with a blue stake that you see on the posted trail signs as going past a small pond, not the one with the fountain in it on privite property. This trail leads u to the Big Brook were fossil hunters can find Goblin shark teeth and Brachiopods. There is a cache on the opposite side of Big Brook but your feet will get wet as the bridge across is gone.
The parking lot is fairly small and can be missed if driving too fast but the preserve is marked with a sign.
The cache is a large ammo box with goodies. GPS is very bouncy in this area when the leaves are on the trees. From the parking lot you get on the trail and go right and follow the trail back till you get close no bushwacking neccessary.
