An easy basic cache on a hill with a view // helppo peruskätkö kukkulalla, josta on mukava näköala.
Aurinkovuori, or Sun Mountain, is one of the higher parts of the second Salpausselkä ridge formation, which was formed during the last ice-age some 11 000 years ago. Aurinkovuori rises 156 metres above sea level at its highest point, some 80 metres above the surrounding lakes Päijänne and Vesijärvi.
On the slopes of Aurinkovuori are several sawdust tracks, well suited for running, walking or nordic-walking. Parts of the tracks are illuminated throughout the year. During wintertime it provides great surroundings for cross-country skiing.
The cache is near the remains of an old ski-jumping tower. On the concrete foundations of the tower, a small observation platform has been built, which offers a fairly nice view over the southern parts of lake Päijänne.
Near the cache, there's a lean-to with the facilities to make a campfire, including a plentiful supply of firewood.
You can park you vehicle at the parking place of the Vääksy sports-hall, approximately at coordinates 61° 10.693' and 25° 31.395'. From there, there's a little over a kilometre to the cache along the tracks. The cache will get covered by snow, but it is not totally impossible to find the cache during winter.
Cache contains: some exchangable objects, log book, pencil, sharpener and a box of matches to light your campfire.

Aurinkovuori on korkeimpia kohtia toisella Salpausselällä, joka muodostui jääkauden aikana noin 11 000 vuotta sitten. Aurinkovuoren korkein kohta on 156 metriä merenpinnan yläpuolella, noin 80 metriä ympäröivien järvien, Vesijärven ja Päijänteen pintaa korkeammalla.
Aurinkovuoren rinteitä kiertää pururatoja, jotka soveltuvat hyvin juoksemiseen, kävelyyn tai vaikka sauvakävelyyn. Osa radoista on valaistu ympäri vuoden. Talvella on hyvät mahdollisuudet murtomaahiihtoon.
Kätkö on lähellä vanhan hyppyrimäen jäännöksiä. Hyppyrimäen betonijalustoille on rakennettu pieni näköalatasanne, josta on mukava näkymä etelä-Päijänteelle. Kätkön lähellä on myös
laavu, jossa on tulentekomahdollisuus polttopuineen.
Voit parkkeerata ajoneuvosi Vääksyn urheiluhallin parkkipaikalle, jonka koordinaatit ovat suurinpiirtein 61° 10.693' ja 25° 31.395'. Parkkipaikalta on noin kilometrin kävelymatka kätkölle pururataa pitkin. Talvella kätkö jää lumen alle, mutta sen löytäminen talvella ei ole täysin mahdotonta.
Kätkö sisältää: pientä vaihtotavaraa, logikirjan kynän ja terottimen sekä tulitikut nuotion tekoon.
