Exit On The Goose Traditional Cache
jabb1018: Cache was destroyed during a railroad tree cutting operation near tracks. The ammo box was shredded by a stump processing machine. Found pieces of ammo box with metal detector. Not being replaced.

Nice walk on an old railroad grade with moderate traffic.
Ammo box filled with trinkets and visiting travel bugs. Easy access to handle quick dropoffs and pickups of travelbugs, paved parking available. Pass by a Wisconsin DOT survey marker as you enter the trailhead. Dogs welcome on the trail and bicycles are the most common. Trail base material is packed screenings and roundtrip walk, from parking lot, is 1 mile. The coordintates were taken on a crystal clear day during winter, the accuracy at the time was 25 ft. The trail is lined with thick foliage and will affect your GPS, especially during summer months. This is part of the Wild Goose State Trail. When complete, in about 5 years, the trail will run, continuously, from Lake Winnebago to Hwy. 60, in Dodge County. Currently, there is a portion, in the Fond du Lac City limits, that is undeveloped and another section between Fond du Lac County B and Hwy. 49, on the Dodge/Fond du Lac County line. Enjoy your day.
