"Our Turn" Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Merrill Misfits: Stopped by to check on this one now that the flood waters are down and have decided to archive it. The cache container was damaged by vandals and the park layout has changed too much with the addition of the bark park.

It was fun while it lasted. Thanks to all who stopped by!

Geocache Description:

Located at Chippawassee Park (Home of the Tridge) in Midland. Best Parking at Trilogy Skateboard Park (.25 Mile Walk) at N 43 36.760 W 084 15.089 or the Bark Park just a bit past that. There are two ways to get to this cache - a trail thru the woods with Stinging Nettles & Poison Ivy or a walk across the grass. Note: this area is prone to Spring & Fall floods. If you are planning a trip, you can email us a few days in advance and we can check on the conditions.

We have seen that other geocachers have placed caches in this park and they have either been flooded out or were muggled, which poses problems for placing another cache here. We have tried to think of a new way to get a cache in this popular Midland park and think we will give it a try. Hence the name, "Our Turn". We will take our turn at placing a cache here and see how it goes.

"Our Turn" will actually be more out in the open, so we added a lock to prevent muggle entry and... well, you'll see when you find it.

The lock will be a combination lock and instead of giving you the numbers(that's just too easy), you'll have to find the answers to these 3 questions...

1.) RIGHT 3 TURNS STOP AT - Day on which President James K. Polk was born.
2.) LEFT FULL TURN PASS ABOVE NUMBER TO - This day in September is "International Talk like a Pirate Day" (Since we're all pirates in a way! Arr!)
3.) RIGHT AND STOP AT - This is the uniform number that was worn by Mr. Misfit's favorite Detroit Tiger when he was a kid - Norm Cash. (The instructions in CAPS are from the combination lock. It is just a standard Master lock if you are confused by them.)

Okay, that was not all that hard and we all learned some new stuff! ;-)

"Our Turn" will have a container for the Log Book and for trading small Sig Items. There will be another for all "Treasure" trades. There is also a Zip Lock bag that will start out with 5 Travel Bugs and 3 other Hitchhikers. Also included are 3 envelopes for the first 3 finders with a little extra treasure. Have fun! The Merrill Misfits

Cache area closed every July 4th due to fireworks!

EDITED OCTOBER 2, 2005 - Since we last stopped by here a few weeks ago they built a "Bark Park" in the vicinity of the cache. We suggest parking at the "Bark Park" (use the Skatepark Coordinates) and PLEASE ENTER THRU THE GATES THERE - DON'T JUMP THE FENCE - THANK YOU!
