Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Polson Park, located near the heart of Vernon, B. C. adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6.

This drink bottle cache, hanging inside a cedar bush could be as close as 2m from your vehicle, depending on where you park. This would normally be a fairly easy cache to find, however, the challenge is searching for it and retrieving it without drawing too much attention to yourself -- as this is a heavy muggle area. You can unhook the container to be able to look at contents and sign logbook, but please rehang back where you found it using the attached lanyard!  Don't be misled by any old remaining purple cap as I couldn't find it to remove it. Good luck!

“The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite, is located in the south east of the park. Further SE is the Polson Park Walkway, a Rotary Club project. This path and boardwalk crosses Vernon Creek and its wetlands. There are also two ponds in the park which support an abundance of waterfowl. The most recent addition is the water fountain at the NW corner of Polson Park, close to one of the entrances. Polson Park offers lots to do and see for both residents and visitors to our community. Many picnic or just feed the ducks. A water spray playground is very popular with children of all ages, and is adjacent to the playground. The park also supports two tennis courts, a running track and a skateboard park. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.“
