I-80 E/B Travel Bugs' Camp Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

FluteLlama: We'd been scouting out new locations for this one, and it looked like we'd found the perfect spot for it. But we were wrong, and so I'm just gonna let this one go. It had a great ride while it lasted. Believe me, it was sooooo convenient to the Freeway & all that it was much loved by many. That right there is my reward.

Sorry to see it go. But check out my other I-80 Cache up in Vacaville.

Happy Caching,
FluteLlama

Geocache Description:

Cache is an Ammo Box with a large Officicial GeoCache sticker on it.

This is a Travel Bug drop-off for either direction on the I-80 freeway. It sits on the East Bound side, but is easily accessible from either direction as it is a "Hamburger Hill" type place.

This is an easy drive-up cache on level, parking lot ground.

Just North of the SFBay there is a lovely little valley in Solano County. As you travel from the hustle-bustle freeway of the metropolis East Bay Area one of the first towns you will see will be FAIRFIELD. Fairfield is host to the wonderful JELLY BELLY FACTORY (complete with free tour of the factory as well as a fantastic store/cafe/play area. Fairfield also hosts ANHEUSER BUSCH's brewery which also has a free factory tour/gift store, and sometimes features the awesomely huge & beautiful CLYDESDALE Horse Team. Right neaby the cache where Mr. Jelly started his travels (& hopes to come back to) lies a fun amusement park called Scandia. Not far away there is Marine World in Vallejo, Old Town Sacramento in Sacramento, the quaint bike-filled town of Davis, and the Napa Valley with all its wine tasting & beautiful vineyards (have you seen Keanu Reeves' movie "A Walk in the Clouds"?). A day trip will also bring you to the beaches along the Pacific Ocean, complete with Lighthouses dotted along the coast, San Francisco, Bodega Bay (where Hitchcock filmed "The Birds"), and John Muir's redwoods. 3 hours drive up the freeway (East Bound) will net you a view of Lake Tahoe where you can go to the beach or raft down the Truckee River, or ski if it is Winter.

I agree with the handful of folks who think I need to alter this to AFTER WORK HOURS ONLY. It is still available during the weekday....I hid it during the working hours....but if you are uncomfortable with employees turning into observant muggles, then you might wanna drop by after 5 pm.
