Peace Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

NannyOgg: We did a check on this today, and the tree is down, and the cache gone. We decided to hide a new one, and list it as a new listing, because some of the other attributes have changed too.

Keep an eye out for a new and improved Peace Cache!

Geocache Description:

Small container

In April 2005, I went caching with mosaica, and we did a Peace Cache in New Hampshire. I had a hard time finding the cache, even although I thought I had found it when I saw this perfect cache container. So I took that empty container with me to hide my own peace cache some day.

That day has finally arrived. This is a pretty easy hide, even my one year old Mini Oggette could find it. I started a small peace cairn close to the cache, please bring a stone to add to it. You can park at the little park / play ground next to City Hall. It is a small container, so please bring your own pen or pencil. Not much room for trading items, only small ones. It was hard to get good GPS reception, so the coordinates might not be totally perfect.

I would like people to share some memories or stories about peace and/or war in their log. For me, I grew up in the Netherlands, where my parents lived through the war with the Germans. They were just young kids when this war was going on. Listening to their stories was an important part of my childhood. The hunger winter was brutal. My dad told stories about having to catch sparrows, which didn't have much meat, and even eating flower bulbs. I can't imagine.
