Historie

In april 1925 wordt door de gemeente Amsterdam besloten een rioolwaterzuivering te bouwen in de Sloterdijkermeerpolder. Begin tachtiger jaren was de zuivering dermate verouderd dat uiteindelijk besloten werd de zuivering op te heffen waardoor het terrein beschikbaar kwam voor woningbouw.

Er is gekozen voor hergebruik van een gistingstank vanwege het gunstige effect op de waterkwaliteit, omdat het regenwater eerst gezuiverd wordt met een helofytenfilter (biologisch rietfilter). Samen met een oude gistingstank die is omgebouwd tot een buffer vormt de filter een minizuivering. De buffer fungeert als een tijdelijke opslag voor het vervuilde regenwater.

Dit zijn andere specifieke onderdelen van de oude zuivering. Eén van de gistingstanks is omgebouwd tot fietsberging. In de tweede tank zijn zeven appartementen gebouwd.

In deze voormalige voorbezinktanks zijn tuinen aangelegd. Ook zie je hier een kunstwerk. Dit kunstwerk bestaat uit een druppelgordijn, klimhortensia's en glooiende sierbestrating.

Historie

In April 1925 the municipality Amsterdam decided to build a sewer water purificationplant in the Sloterdijkermeerpolder. In the early 80's the purificationplant had become obsolete and it was decided close the purificationplant as a result of which the site became available for house construction.

The choice was made to reuse a fermentation tank because the rain water is filtered fist with a helofytenfilter (biological sheer filter) which leads to a favourable impact on the water quality. With an old fermentation tank, which has been converted to a buffer, the filter forms a mini purification. The buffer acts as a temporary storage for polluted rain water.
