The Pines Traditional Cache

In Harriman, on top of the mound known as The Pines. A typical Harriman hike also close to Pyngyp which has another cache and a benchmark.
Another cache in my Camp series designed to get my campers out into Harriman. This is one of the destinations to be reached to become one of our camp's "Harriman Hikers". It carries the NY State Park's permit #H05-7. It can be reached by taking the trails from Anthony Wayne Parking area off the Palisades Parkway. For a shorter hike, you can email the owner of the cache and get permission to park on camp property and use the Scout Trails to get into Harriman.
An ammo can with samples of our Harriman Hiker buttons. Since the area and cache are called The Pines and there is not a pine tree in sight, I should have placed at least a pine cone in the cache, but realised this after I hiked back into camp. I might take something to represent a pine tree next time I check the cache.
