Drifting Hares Traditional Cache

This cache is a standard 2 ltr box and is placed about 2ft up a tree close to the footpath.
The route begins in the village of Long Melford and is known as the Hare Drift. The path starts opposite the entrance to Kentwell Hall, between the Hare public house and a garden centre. N 52 05.263 E 000 43.664 TL86859 46821
The first part is a concrete track. Shortly it crosses a road then the rest of the walk is through farmland and woods. The walk is about 1.8 miles to the cache.
Hint: When you reach a ford do not cross it. Turn left and follow the stream. The Explorer 196 map is excellent for this area.
This route can become very muddy in winter or after rain.A shorter and dryer route to the cache starts from Bridge Street ( just North of Long Melford )
