How Geocaching Works

This is the 30th cache by caughtatwork, in an area familiar to some and new to others.
In 1865 Truganina cemetery was gazetted, the second district public cemetery. This followed land being set aside in the township of Wyndham (later Werribee) in October 1864 for a public cemetery. The cemetery is located on the west side of Woods Road in Truganina. The land originally being part of the 128 acre property owned by William Doherty in 1858. It was originally fenced by stone with an iron gates. However the stone fence was removed a number of years ago.
There was formerly a cache in this cemetery but due to the cacher moving to Western Australia the opportunity to encourage people to visit this historical area couldn’t be passed up and so Seeking Heaven has been placed.
The cache itself is a 1 litre Bio Kips Lock’n’Lock style container, but that will be little use to you as you conduct your search as the cache itself is a Cunningly Concealed Cache Container.
The cache originally contained: A snake, a splash bomb, a laser pen, a tape measure, a roll of electrical tape, sinkers, swim goggles, a Yuk! and a whistle along with the usual log book and pen.
I hope you enjoy your visit to this location as you take the time to review our history. Please heed the signs keeping out of the grassland restoration area and watch out for snakes during summer.
