Indian Point Trail Cache Traditional Cache
Doug&Katie: This cache has been archived. We removed the cache because we are unable to ride the 12 miles on a single-track bike trail to perform maintenance any longer. We may try to place the cache at the lower end of the point trail sometime next spring.

9" Rubbermaid container containing:
Logbook with historic picture of trail in front cover

4 butter spreaders
1 ring

To find this cache, follow Colorado 65 to the Lands End Road on Grand Mesa. Approximately 1.2 miles from the intersection turn South on Road 109 and follow for approximately 5.5 miles to the green gate that blocks the road. From the gate, it's by bike, horseback or on foot to the cache.
The cache is hidden in an area with magnificent views of the Grand Valley, Book Cliffs, and the Uncompahgre Plateau. The scenery alone is worth the hike. A historic cattle trail which starts at the City Intake on Kannah Creek terminates at Indian Point. A picture of the trail from about 1915 is included in the log book.
Terrain rated 4 due to length of the hike (approx. 12 mi. round trip) and roughness of trail for bike travel. Overall Difficulty rated 3 due to cache being hidden in an area with lots of rocks.
