Geocache Description:

Located on the top of Blue Mountain.

This cache is located on the top of Blue Mountain at an elevation of 6040 feet and is near the USFS wildfire lookout tower. The metal lookout tower that sits on top was built in 1935 and is 72 feet tall. The cabin that sits beside the tower was built in 1940 and is pretty much in a run down state right now. Hopefully the Forest Service will restore this old cabin as they have been doing with many of the lookout towers and buildings in the area. The view from the top of the mountain is awesome and well worth the drive up there.

To get to this cache take Pipe Creek road (highway 68) for seven miles to the Blue Creek road (road 755) and follow it for eleven miles to the top of the mountain. The Blue creek road is a well-maintained gravel road that is a little steep overall and gets slightly bumpy towards the top of the mountain.

The cache is in a seven inch round container. The original contents of this cache are:

- Measuring Tape
- Metal Measuring Spoons
- Allen Wrench Set
- Picture Frame
- An “Ant” Paper Weight In A Box
- Toy Airplane
- Baseball
- I-Cache Software CD’s
- Log book and pencils

ItchinToGoFishin and ItchinsBestCatch placed this cache for the Big Sky Cachers.
