Who's Larry Siegfried? Well! He's only the most famous athlete to ever don a Shelby Whippets jersey!
If you don't believe it, read the plaque at the above coordinates. But that's not where the cache is hidden, although it's not very far away.
Write down the last two digits of the year Larry, Jerry Lucas the MVP of the tournament, John Havlicek, Mel Nowell and crew won the NCAA championship for our beloved buckeyes. (Bobby Knight was also on the team but scored 0 points. However he was only a Sophomore, and didn't throw any chairs). From that subtract 24 and place the remainder in place of 72 in the plaque latitude.
Now, from the number on Larry's Boston Celtics jersey subtract 5 and place the remainder in place of the 00 in the plaque longitude.
You now have the coordinates of the cache. Good hunting.
The placer of this cache watched Larry play basketball in high school. Thanks to Ralph Phillips for providing these facilities for our town, and thanks to Larry for some very very exciting basketball years!
The park is always open and you are welcome any time. Kids can even play pickup ball there without obtaining permission as long as no league games are going on. All that is asked is that everyone treat the park with respect and pick up after yourselves.
