This cache provides some history on a strong American woman who fought back.
Although this is a quick and easy cache, please be careful of small children while crossing the Railroad Bridge as well as watch out for the steep bank down to the river behind the monument. Otherwise terrain would be 1.
Hannah Dustin (1657-1737) was one of a small group kidnapped during an Indian raid in 1697. She killed and scalped her captives and assisted 2 others to escape and return home.
You can park at the Hannah Dustin Memorial Park and Ride on Route 4 East off of Interstate 93 Exit 17. For a shorter walk, park at N43*17.355 W071*35.493 off of Commercial Street in Penacook NH.
