Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES

Chinese culture is older than ours. Rooster, who is Chinese believes that the source of all wisdom is China. She may have a point.

The picture above shows a landmark familiar to people around the world. The Great Wall is one of the manmade structures visible to astronauts in orbit. It has rightly been called one of the wonders of the world. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus stretching approximately 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles ) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections of the great wall are now in ruins or even entirely disappeared. However, it is still one of the most appealing attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance.

Beyond architecture, China has produced such great thinkers as Sun Tzu and Confucius. The Chinese invented gunpowder, and first used it in colorful fireworks displays. The Chinese gave us many of the tools we use in everyday life, as well as some that we might not often use, but other cultures do. These include:

the abacus, one of the earliest "computers"
wheelbarrow
kites
umbrellas
magnetic compass
silk
paper
porcelain china
chess
decimal mathematics
rockets
matches
cast iron

Most of us are at least vaguely familiar with the Chinese calendar. The beginnings of the Chinese calendar can be traced back to the 14th century B.C.E. Legend has it that the Emperor Huangdi invented the calendar in 2637 B.C.E. The Chinese calendar is based on exact astronomical observations of the longitude of the sun and the phases of the moon. This means that principles of modern science have had an impact on the Chinese calendar. Perhaps more important, it is the origin of our screen names, Snake & Rooster.
The idea for this puzzle came from TucsonThompsen, thanks Jeff.
