Geocache Description:

This cache is the beginning cache for the great Australia-Austin travel bug race. Please take one or more bugs with you.

dirich92 has spent a few weeks caching in the area and has placed this cache for other holidayers to find. It's also suitable for travellers along the New England Highway. FurstyFerret has graciously offered to provide maintenance for this holiday cache.

There are many things to do in Uralla, including discovering the legend of bushranger Captain Thunderbolt, exploring the Waterfall Way, visiting wineries, and panning for gold in the park near this cache. There are motels, farmstays, and B&Bs in the area. Panning equipment can be rented for a reasonable cost from the Uralla Visitor's Centre.
