Geocache Description:

Sand dollars

A Kansas Heartland Geocache

While driving through the state of Washington, we took a side trip to a park. The July weather was great. The whole family checked out the tiny little crabs near the water's edge where the sand and gravel were still damp. They were everywhere!

The tide started rising which sent my wife and me back towards drier land. My son and daughter, however, walked deeper into the water. They didn't get very deep when they came across a spot that they said was covered with a dense gathering of sand dollars. They picked one up and brought it to us to examine. None of us had ever seen a live sand dollar. After watching it wiggle around for a bit, they took the sand dollar away to put it back with all the others. That was an awesome experience.

You are looking for Nicc's micro matchstick container. The original container was a black ammo box with a cantuland-geocache-logo painted on the sides but it got muggled. Original contents include a Guide to Geocaching, a Sacagawea gold dollar coin, a Kansas quarter, a Lewis-and-Clark edition nickel, one of those new-Lincoln-image-on-the-back pennies, an old wheat penny, and lots of other miscellaneous trade items.

Congratulations to SilleB for being First To Find!
