Geocache Description:

Welcome to the first, and so far only, Rock River Basin Enviro Cache. The reason for this cache is very obvious. The cache is accessible from the walk, no need to enter the area. I know the log is wet, sorry I can't get there to replace it for a couple of weeks, since I no longer work at the UWEX office. I will try to get it replaced ASAP. It does seem appropriate that I can't keep the log dry : )

If you’d like more information about the feature shown, just come during business hours and ask for Suzanne (or do a goggle search). In 2009 we rehabilitated the garden, hopefully it will look as nice this year (2011). Over the winter the frost heaved ended up covering the cache, and then they burned the garden which melted the container. I have replaced it with a small match stick holder, and have recently moved it to where I hope it will be dryer and safer from spring fires.

There is a nice hike up the hill to the south, to the Jefferson County Potter’s Field, a remnant of when this area was the Jefferson County Poor Farm and Asylum. It’s now part of the Jefferson County Countryside Home Farm.
