Skyclad Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of skyclad to find out about the status of this cache on May 17, 2010. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

A cache hidden at the UMASS Sunwheel. The area is open, but cache retrieval/replacement should not be difficult. Take special care replacing the cache and rearranging its cover.

On the southern end of the UMASS campus, in a field behind the stadium, stands the UMASS Sunwheel. Visitors are welcome here at any time, day or night, all year round. If you come out for the solstices or equinoxes you can attend official gatherings hosted by the Dept. of Astronomy, and watch the sun rise or set over the standing stones. Or you can come out at night to view the constellations (just make sure there's nothing going on at the stadium, or you'll be competing with the lights!) Visit the Sunwheel Website for more info.

Parking is along the side of the road next to the stones. There's a "cache" of sorts here already (in plain sight in the center of the circle) for visitors to sign in, and take pamphlets and the like. Please take the time to sign the logbook here, as well as the one in the hidden geocache.

Enjoy the Sunwheel, and please…
