Off Wright street on Forestville Road. Public access site and boat launch. Wooded area with swales and a river valley. 812 FASL
The late 1600s French explorers discovered new lands on the Lake Superior shores. Riviere de Mort (Dead River) was so named as there were many trees that had washed down the river and into the big lake. A rather dismal place to explore with bad prospects of a passage way. With a natural basin and manmade reservoir, today the area serves as a hydroelectric source with drops of 200 feet producing power in the mega watt range. Also the basin area makes for great fishing!
You will be looking for a small container holding the coordinates for the second cache. Six gallon container with many items.
...Watch for the yellow "caution" tape, To your left, look for the trail between the cedars, follow this trail up a steep slope to another yellow tape, turn right and up more of the slope. On a dim trail to a glen, then through a bunch of windfalls. Listen for the hum of the power dynamos... As this sound become clear you will be near!
