Epochs have passed since glaciers passed over the North American continent. Yet even today, their effects are rather evident in the shapes and contours of land and rocks. A fascinating example of a glacier's impact can be found at Glacier's Den.
Glaciers Den is an intriguing area of house-size boulders strewn about in random formations. The strange contours and close proximities of the rocks here create a maze-like landscape of stone boasting narrow passages and tiny caves, comparable to the formations found at Elk Rock and The Lost Crag.
This natural landmark lies between Dunbar and Jumonville, near an area known as Irishtown. You can go through Dunbar and go straight at the four-way stop onto Hardy Hill Rd. Follow this for a few miles. The road will go from pavement, to crappy pavement, to gravel, to dirt, to a rougher dirt. I see no reason why you couldn't drive the whole way in a car as long as you take your time and drive carefully. If you don't feel comfortable just park and hoof it. Park at N39 55.299, W079 36.563 The first rocks are noticable from there and its only a short walk to the cache. Another approach would be to turn toward Jumonville from Route 40 at the summit, make the right at the church camp, and one more right onto Gettamy Road, then follow your GPS to the parking area.
After you find the cache, take some time to explore the rocks!
