Escape from Osprey Island Multi-Cache
Escape from Osprey Island
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
To do this cache you will need some form of water transportation.
This area is a little known gem that we love to visit to kayak, hike and picnic.
To get there: take Hwy 15 to Briton-Houghton Bay Road; follow this until you reach Mill Pond Conservation Area, turn right and continue on the dirt road until you get to the second parking area where you will also find a boat launch (the road does get a little rough).
Use the posted coordinates to begin the cache. The first and only re-direct is located on the back of a tree about eye level close to the boat launch; these are the coordinates to an island where the cache is located. You will know you are getting close to the island when you hear the cry of the Osprey from over head. Round trip to the island is approx. 3km.
***We must warn you that although finding the island is easy…..getting off will be another matter due to the savage tribe that calls this island home. We were able to get a very rare photo of one of the savages and have posted it so that everyone attempting this cache can be prepared. To date only two people have ever been able to get off the island without losing their head…..
