This cache has a military theme in honor of those who have
served in our Armed Forces keeping America safe and free. It is
designed for families to enjoy while visiting this lovely park and
veteran’s memorial. Bring a picnic and baseball and other sports
equipment. Come when there is a concert in the nearby amphitheater.
See Veterans
Memorial Park Trail Map and Town of Penfield for
more information about events in the park and other town
information.
Okay, here is your mission: from the given co-ordinants you will
need to do a little search and recovery to find the second
waypoint. First, find the VFW Post number on Comdr. & Mrs.
Andrew E. Strawhand memorial bench. Record it here
_____________
Now find the number of wars in which “They Died So That We Might
Live Free”. Record it here _____________. Multiply that number by 3
= _______________. That’s the number you want to subtract from the
number of veterans listed on the monument. Record your result here
__________. Add that number to the VFW Post number above.
That’s your first set of co-ords to waypoint two. Record them
here: N43 09.__ __ __
Ok, Troop, you are half way there. Now, find Captain Wise. Using
the last three numbers of the year he was mustered out ________,
subtract 260 to get your next set of co-ords. Record the result
here: W077 26.__ __ __
Move It, Move It, Move It, to waypoint two! Set those results
into your GPSr and storm the woods to the final 30 cal. ammo can.
Original contents of the can include American flags, dollar store
GI toys, a Battleship game keychain, small bags of green army men
and a FTF prize. Try to trade according to the theme.
