Geocache Description:

'THE WYCH ELM MYSTERY'
Part of the 'Blog Standard' series of geocaches

In the 1940's the body of a woman was discovered in Hagley Woods, hidden in a Wych Elm tree. Who she was and who put her body there is still a mystery. There have been lots of rumours and theories over the years, and the grisly tale was even turned into a play.

This Blog Standard Series cache is back after being muggled in May 2006.
** 01st August 2006 ** I’ve changed the co-ordinates and the cache type from Ammo box to a microcache. Those who are not keen on micros should not get in a flap, as this is a micro with a difference. The first stage used to be a solve the puzzle find the cache. Due to a ‘which/wych’ problem, it's now a micro container.

As before it is a two-stage multi.

Find the microcache to lead you to the final cache. The first stage co-ordinates are N52 25.979 W002 07.062 and the cache is about 10cm long.

For the second stage, you will need to bring a pen to sign the logbook - but size can be deceptive. Could the first person to attempt it please bring an elastic band?

The cache is not hidden in the wych elm tree in question, as this is now private land. There is some unusual wild life in this area, so keep a look out.

The cache is the 5th in the Blog Standard series, each loggable in their own right, and each containing a "secret code" needed to find the location of a the final geocache.
