I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

ABOUT THE GHOSTBUSTER SERIES

This is the THIRD of a four part series of GHOSTBUSTER Caches in the State of Connecticut. Once you have completed all four caches you will receive the official designation of “GHOSTBUSTER”.

To achieve this highly coveted title however you will need to test your courage as well as your GPS skills. The four cache locations all have had allegations of haunting or spirit activity. There are various levels of documentation and incident descriptions available for each location. Some have been made into TV documentaries or Movies. You can decide for yourself if any of these are real or if
in fact there are real live ghosts anywhere.

A HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT CACHE

This cache is in Saint Thomas Cemetery you can park aywhere in the cemetery. The cache is very small container with a sign in sheet and some stubby pencils so please keep exchanges limited to wheres george bills or geo
coins.

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE LOCATION – THERE IS NO NEED TO
TOUCH OR REACH AROUND OR NEAR ANY TOMBSTONES. THE CACHE CONTAINER IS WELL CONCEALED BUT EASILY ACCESSIBLE.

In our opinion the story behind this one is the scariest. The actual (alleged) haunted site is just down the street from the cache at 208 Meriden Avenue which was a former funeral home N 41 35.474 W 072 52.492. This story was made into a TV documentary called “A Haunting in Connecticut”. The TV program has aired a number of times and may very likely be shown again in the future. A family had moved into the house and extraordinary and hostile supernatural events transpired thereafter. The famous Warren’s came in with an investigative team and one of the team members was so terrified he exited during the middle of the investigation. After watching the documentary it
scared the BEEJEEZUS out of us too.

It may be one of these channels:
A&E, the Discovery channel or TLC.
