Silver Bay Public Marina, North Shore Lake Superior, Silver Bay MN. 55601
This small cammo appropriate 3.5" x 5.5" cache (Lawry's Shaker Bottle) was placed at one of the spots my family loves to visit. Especially the kids, as they like to toss rocks into the lake from the big wooden deck overlooking Lake Superior and the harbor from 70 feet above. It's a very short hike on a gravel trail to the overlook, as is definately worth stopping to see, even if you don't look for the cache. Not many folks know it even exists, as it's location is not featured on any of the Marina's signage directing you throughout the area.
Silver Bay and Beaver Bay are quite easily the most scenic spots on 'The Pond.' Many times the really great secluded beaches, and little hideaways are missed by motorists speeding down Hwy 61 oblivious to what they are missing. Oh well, more for us eh?
