The Safecrackers Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

RGS: Well, I guess someone really wanted this safe, or what they thought was in it. It was chained and bolted to a 4-5" diameter tree. The chain was hardened and the double-nutted bolts had the threads ruined so they couldn't be removed with normal tools. It looks like they pulled over the tree, removed the branches and slid it up and over the top.

So now theres a new place in the park for a cache.

Geocache Description:

***** Dec. 24, 2007 *****
Safecracker has moved to a "muggle-free" location.

An ammo box, slightly modified but still a standard ammo box, located in Emmenegger Park.

This cache should be very easy to locate. The terrain rating is probably close to a one since it is so close to parking but is not wheelchair accessible. Actual difficulty in locating the cache would be a two at the most. However, extracting the cache to open the box is where the difficulty of four comes in.

The cache is located in the flood plain of the Meramec river so remember that the river can be down, up, and then down again the same day.

Nothing needs to be pried, forced, tugged, yanked, multilated, etc. Nothing extra is required either like a flashlight, magnet, pliers, wire, mirror, Scuba gear, ropes, or anything. You could try a hammer and a crowbar but that wouldn't help either. There are several small file marks on the shanks, ignore those as those were for my use and have nothing to do with the cache. You just reach down and grab it; well almost.
Please replace the ammo box exactly as you found it. There are instructions in the box explaining how to place it in case you have trouble remembering how you retrieved it.
