Geocache Description:

Time to get some serious planning done for Texas Challenge 2006. We need as many people as possible to show up for this meeting!

Due to interference from Hurrican Rita, we are going INDOORS, to the Golden Corral at South Lamar and Panther Trail, just north of Ben White/Capitol of Texas Hwy. If you live south, you can go north on Victory Drive by Target and you'll run right into their parking lot. At this point the event is still set for Sunday, Sept. 25th at 2 pm. Save your appetite and have lunch with us, or just come in for a cold drink. IF WE ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE STORM, AND HAVE REALLY BAD WEATHER, PLEASE DON'T RISK INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE TO GET HERE. WE WILL RE-SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEKEND.

I am not, and never will be, a planner or organizer. I need someone to volunteer to be the "head honcho" as we plan for Texas Challenge 06, so I can volunteer to take over a job and do it. Then, we need the head honcho to have a bunch of volunteers at hand to take on the jobs that I don't take!

What I'm saying is, if people don't show up and get organized for TC06 at this meeting, there is a good chance that the TXGA board will take it on themselves to CANCEL the event. I would HATE to see that happen, when we can show the rest of the state what great geocaching we have in Central Texas!

UPDATE! UPSHOT! UPROAR!! AnthonyV and cybercat have agreed to be our SLAVE DRIVERS ... uh, I mean COORDINATORS! And Wayne has agreed to run the planning session, since he has experience with project/product development. After this first meeting, we'll set up regular meetings for each group and Tony and Jana will oversee our progress. WE ARE ON OUR WAY!

The waypoint for this session HAVE CHANGED. Please note new coordinates above.

The Central Texas team is very large geographically, but we NEED some Waco people to be able to attend this, as well as folks from the Hill Country and San Antonio. Austinites, please make out-of-towners welcome by offering your services as a "cache tour guide" for those not familiar with our city, who might want to stay over and cache on Sunday. Let's CELEBRATE what a great caching community we have in Central Texas by planning a SUPER TC06!

WHAT? You say you have NO IDEA what THE TEXAS CHALLENGE is? It's a GEOCACHING CONTEST between the different regions of the state, but it's also a GREAT CHANCE to meet geocachers from all over and talk to them about their caching eexperiences and ideas. There are PLENTY of things for people to do to help, even if you don't get into the "competitive" thing. We won't even make you join the hunt if you don't want to! But we DO need you to HELP!
