Deceangi: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in some public gardens known as the Rookery adjacent to Streatham Common (SW16). Access is free but is closed at dusk and winter bank holidays. There is plenty of public transport with Streatham Station being the closest overground station. Buses are regular too. There is also ample parking at the top of the Common next to the gardens. There is a small cafe near one of the entrances.

The cache is quite well hidden and is above head height. It is a medium sized transparent retangular plastic box with blue clips to keep the lid on. When positioned it contained a key ring, air freshner, a sheep and a travel bug known as Llewellyn.

Streatham Common, where the Rookery Gardens are next to, is on an incline and in fact its unique topography makes it one of the best places for kite flying in the country. One Sunday in April Streatham Common is home to the annual Kite Day - a totally family event where there are impressive kite flying demonstrations by professionals and stalls selling kite flying paraphernalia.

The Rookery itself was once the grounds to a old house, long since demolished, and one of London's best kept secrets.
