Geocache Description:

Station Hof
Dansk:
Luftfoto af Station Hof - Læg mærke til toget til højre i billedet - A aerial view of Station Hof, you can see a train down to the right

N 55° 39.ekf E 012° 3c.bfe

Reduceret tværsum for N = 2 - E = 8

Luftfoto af Station Hof - Læg mærke til toget til højre i billedet - A aerial view of Station Hof, you can see a train down to the right

The name of this railway station ”Hof” is reffering to the world famous beer, Carlsberg Hof. It was the brewery Carlsberg´s very own railway station, established 1954, and active until 1985, where the last wagon with beer left the station.

After 1985 the station was in use for storage of veteran coach and goods wagons by an danish interest group for preserving these. As such it was in duty untill 15 march 1990. The station was closed for good, even the railway tracks was removed.<(P>

Formerly the station was often used for railway transportation of elephants for the Copenhagen Zoo or Circus Benneweis.

Now on to the cache:

The cache is a film canister, so remember to bring a pencil.

At the coordinates you will see two letters at the railing (forming an compass direction (N = north Ø = East S = south V = West)) and a digit, rather visible and written with a black marker.

At this point you can look down at what used to be Railway Station Hof.

Now find the letters numerical place in the alphabet (a = 1 …. z = 26 and if you see the danish letters “æ ø å” these will be æ=27 ø=28 å=29.

Let´s see an example:

Assuming the letters and digit are : SØ2, you have the numbers 19,28 and 2
Then the succession is: 12289 and the row is to be completed by the missing digits, this way: 12289034567
The puzzle is a=1, b=2, c=2, d=8, e=9, f=0, g=3, h=4, i=5, j=6 and k=7.

The above is only an example. Do the same task with letters/digits you found.

The Cache you will find at:

N 55° 39.ekf E 012° 3c.bfe

Reduce Cross Sum for N = 2 - E = 8
