Ringsbury Camp Traditional Cache
Harris Hawks: Looks like the cache has gone yet again. I have progressed from large to a micro and they have all gone. I think it is time to archive.

Ringsbury Camp is an Iron Age hillfort covering some 11 acres. It
is defended by a double bank and ditch system and has a single
entrance situated on its eastern side. Ringsbury is a rarity, being
situated in the clay plain of North Wiltshire, an area in which
there are few prehistoric finds. This territory was heavily wooded
in its natural condition and it is generally believed that
clearance of the damp oak forests did not take place until the
Middle Ages. The camp has, however, a prominent position in the
locality and may have occupied an important location in the
territory of an Iron Age tribe. So far no signs of Iron Age
settlement and agriculture have been found in the surrounding
landscape.
