A short hike up Dry Canyon provides nice views of Utah Valley and an introduction to the trails up this Timpanogos watershed.
Reach the new parking lot by traveling up 2000 North in Orem Utah towards the foothills of Mt. Timpanogos. As 2000 North begins to veer right, make a left hand turn and follow the paved/gravel road about 1 mile to the large parking lot. This cache was originally placed as part of a Hiking and Survival Class I teach at Brigham Young University. I use a geocaching exercise to teach students how to use a GPS on their various class hikes, and as a comparison to map and compass orienteering. The cache is a 3 gallon washing powder container with various McToys and a log.
