A gently climbing stroll across Touchadam Muir to some amazing
views
Drive down the single track road, either from Bannockburn or
Carron Reservoir, there is parking for 4 or 5 cars at N56°04.642
W004°01.779.
Follow the track leading across the muir. At the start of the
walk your GPS may point in a different direction to the path. It is
reccommended you follow the path straight on as the cross country
route, is boggy, marshy and full of wildlife, who won't appreciate
being disturbed. Despite the noise we make when out walking we
managed to see a hawk, some deer and a furry caterpillar (!!)
The path winds gently around and up the hill with some very
stunning views. Even Grangemouth pales into insignificance with the
full experience. While we were up here we could see the forth
bridges, a marvellous view of Wallaces Monument with the back drop
of the Ochils, as well as the Lomonds across in Fife.
Follow the track all the way to the cache, this could be cycled
as well as walked. If you want to actually find the flag you'll
need to walk along the path for a couple of more minutes, although
it can be seen from further back along the path.
