The Bat Cache Traditional Cache

To the locals in the Mat-Su Valley this trail is known as the Batman Trail. Officially, it is called the Matanuska Valley RR Trail. There is no parking at the trailhead, but you can park down the road on a trail behind the school.
This hike/ride is approximately 2¼ miles to the cache. Trail is rocky and washed out in areas, definitely not for smaller children, especially on a bike. The difficulty is what makes this a fun trail. You will be treated to gorgeous views of the Matanuska River. Trail continues on to Moose Creek if you are in for more of a challenge. Cache is an ammo box originally containing bat related goodies.
