Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in the Illinois Beach State Park, North Unit. This park closes at 3:30PM due to the current budget constraints on the park. The listed coordinates are for Stage 1. There is about 20 feet of bushwacking off of the path to get to stage 2.

Well, your keys are not here – only key chains- 34 of them to be exact. They range from a troll to a fairy, from the New Kids on The Block to a shrunken head, from places like Florida, Georgia & Iowa. They were collected by our families and donated to the cache to share with our fellow geocachers. Come and trade in your tired, cheesy, boring old key chain for a new one here. Maybe you can find one even cheesier!!!

This is a two-stage multi cache with-in a half mile of parking – depending where you park. Some parking can be found at:N 42° 28.887’ W 087°48.390.(This parking is NOT within the park). The cache can be reached partially by bike and then by a short hike. If hiking, the journey is a relatively easy one, with bushwhacking only at the end. The first cache is a micro, which contains the coordinates to the second. The second cache is a clear plastic peanut butter jar wrapped in cammo tape.

Don’t let your journey end with the cache, continue on and enjoy the spectacular lake views close by the cache and the many hiking and biking trails the park has to offer.
